RONDO
porcelain table light

design: Michael Grandt

RONDO is a concept for a table lamp made of ultra-thin, translucent porcelain.

Its silhouette subtly resembles a stylized mushroom and can also be seen as a modern reinterpretation of traditional Japanese lanterns.

Both the upper shade and the base feature a cylindrical structure segmented into faceted panels, creating a polygonal rhythm that lends the object a sculptural and tactile quality.

The lamp is made entirely of extremely white porcelain, with no additional materials or ornamentation, giving it a calm and almost monolithic presence when switched off.

When illuminated, the thin porcelain reveals its translucent nature. Light is softly diffused not only through the shade but through the entire body, producing a gentle blend of direct and ambient light.

The design is ideally suited to interiors influenced by Scandinavian, Japanese, or modern minimalist styles.

Currently, the lamp is a prototype, and the designer is seeking a lighting or furniture brand for further development and market launch.
