BLOVA
glass object and vase

design: Michael Grandt / Kerstin Froch / Lennart Ebert

mouthblown glass
dimensions: 272 x 240 x 240

By combining two glassmaking techniques – free-blowing and mold-blowing – the creative possibilities of the material have been explored extensively. The contrast between a cylindrical exterior and an organic interior gives the design strong aesthetic tension.

While the outer shell is always the same with any version of BLOVA, the inner shape of each object is unique. The functionality was deliberately left open to the interpretation of its user. BLOVA can turn into a vase, a container exhibiting small objects or just remain a fascinating glass sculpture in its own right.
